EAGLE’S CROWN

A golden eagle I was born

Then you clipped my wings

Now I scratch around in the dirt

In some domicile chicken dream

Feel like the monkey king before me

Trapped by the weight of things

It seems under the mountain you’ll be held

Until you are friends

An’ if I ever see again

My feet won’t touch the ground

I will take off this chicken crest

An’ put on my eagle’s crown

Then I’ll fly above the clouds

An’ see through the dust

And never look down on anyone

Who lives the way they must

A golden eagle I was born

Then you clipped my wings

Now I scratch around in the dirt

In some domicile chicken dream

An’ if I ever see you again

My feet won’t touch the ground

I will take of that chicken crest

An’ put on my eagle’s crown

Then I’ll fly above the clouds

An’ see through the dust

An’ never look down on anyone

Who lives the way they must
